Newspaper publisher and editor. Born in 1902 in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Earned his degree at the University of Oklahoma and worked on the "El Reno American," the "Tulsa Democrat," the "Tulsa World," and the "Bristow Record." Came to West Texas in January, 1924, to work for the Lubbock "Avalanche-Journal." Became editor and publisher in 1931 and kept the position until October, 1972.
